On February 26th, 2023, Bernard-Henri Lévy, accompanied by Slava Vakarchuk, Kateryna Prokopenko, Marc Roussel and Gilles Hertzog, presented his film Slava Ukraini in Kyiv. In the famous Zhovten Cinema in the Ukrainian capital, which was revived for the occasion, many Ukrainians and protagonists of the film were able to attend the screening. The Minister of Defence Oleksiy Reznikov, who was present, did not fail to praise the strength of Bernard-Henri Lévy’s documentary: “I saw Slava Ukraini by a great philosopher and friend of Ukraine, BHL, for the second time. […] I am still as impressed as ever. The world must know the truth about the Russian aggression. Thank you for telling it, my friend”.
During this new trip to Ukraine, BHL also met the Ukrainian Minister of Culture Oleksandr Tkachenko, the families of the Azovstal resistance fighters, and visited the exhibition on war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by Putin’s Russia, organized in Kyiv by the Yes Conference, as well as the exhibition dedicated to the Righteous of Ukraine at the Drohobytch synagogue in Lviv oblast.
