Bernard-Henri Lévy presented his film “The Will to See” in Madrid. On this occasion, in front of a large audience, which gave the film an enthusiastic welcome, between admiration, emotion and political awareness, the philosopher returned to one of the great battles of his life: the defense of a luminous Islam, drawing on democratic values, against obscurantism. He did not fail to mention the war in Ukraine which places the world at a crossroads, facing the new face of fascism embodied by Vladimir Putin.

The Spanish journalist Daniel Ramírez recalled the brilliant career of BHL and called him “one of the most important thinkers of our time”.

Cruz Sánchez de Lara, the vice president of El Español, also praised Bernard-Henri Lévy’s work. “He is a great writer, a great philosopher and a war reporter. It is the most brilliant conjunction I have ever seen: an intellectual of action for peace and freedom who embodies all the values of sustainability. [He is one of the most impressive people I have ever met. He has undeniable brilliance, commitment and tenacity,” she said.

Finally, Pedro J. Ramírez, the president of El Español, publicly thanked him for the tremendous work he has done for the company through “his reports, his films and his life’s work”.
