Elie Wiesel, Auschwitz Survivor and Nobel Prize Winner, Is Dead at 87.
He dedicated his life to giving voice to the six million Jews slaughtered in World War II, bearing, through several dozen books, eloquent witness to the unbearable, unthinkable monstrosity of what happened.
Elie Wiesel’s loss, tonight, is a loss for me personally, for all the Jewish people, for the world.
Yet, what he gave the world, will never be lost. It will live on, through the Spirit of Judaism, through the spirit of humanism.
